Carmelo Nicosia Bio
Carmelo Nicosia is a diverse and eclectic guitarist who has been performing professionally for over 30 years. His credits include performances with Steven Scott Orchestras, The Drifters and The Crystals, and he was the band leader and guitarist for the Harmony Gospel Jazz Quintet which opened for Yolanda Adams. He is also a worship leader, music teacher, entrepreneur, composer, producer and philanthropist. In partnership with his wife Teri, the musical event company Harmony Entertainment Inc. was formed. They forged a network of highly talented musicians, singers, dancers, DJs and uniquely skilled performers to ensure their customer’s vision of each event is “brought to life.” Carmelo has a passion for using music to inspire the elderly and handicapped to continue to thrive and has made many appearances at nursing homes, senior centers and assisted living facilities in the NY area.
As a composer and philanthropist, he married this passion for life affirming music programs with his public charity Hope For Living – an organization dedicated to performances for the sick, elderly and other under-served and disadvantaged individuals in health care and institutional settings.
His life’s opus and upcoming CD, “The Carmelo Project”, represents his diverse range of musical skills; a 9 piece suite of music he composed to share his worship with the world. His inspiration for the project was a personal epiphany of discovering the meaning of his name Carmelo to be “The Garden of God.” The compositions on the CD are inspired by the ‘9 Fruits Of The Spirit’ from the Bible verse Galatians 5:22.
